KICKAMANIA is heating up! Young Tae-Kwon-Do jins BERNARD BARKER, YERI LEE, AXL POINDEXTER, and RALPH BARKER are consistently winning their weekly bouts against some of the best in the world in this top-rated $1,000,000 Tae-Kwon-Do Reality Show.
Their sensei, former world champion FELIX ANTONIO BARKER, father of Bernard and Ralph, a chemistry professor, is beginning to feel the heat from the mob that is trying to control the outcome of the competition. While conducting university research at the local zoo, Felix mysteriously disappears. One of the tigers is also missing.
At about the same time, Bernard, Yeri, Axl, and Ralph, working part-time as dog mascots for the opening of Nerrdoug’s H-H-Hotdogs, suddenly find themselves transformed into uncanny human-dog creatures with incredible super powers.
It will take some time before they understand that it is all because of THE WAR OF THE ASTEROIDS in the distant galaxy of Novamundx that has been brought to Earth…
Warlord DU DREDD of the Black Asteroids has been abducting Earthling animals and turning them into beast fighters called the Warkind. These murderous creatures are wreaking havoc to the resistance of the Koalition, a galactic union of freedom-fighting asteroids. Du Dredd is also building a Warkind army to invade the Earth.
The Koalition has sent operatives to Earth to create a breed of warrior dogs that can fight the Warkind, but they erroneously endowed Bernard, Yeri, Axl, and Ralph with super powers upon spotting them in dog costumes.
And there is no way to undo it anymore.
The four childhood friends become wielders of the Exo-Force, the power of exobiological energy, through an intermolecular fusion with Novamundx’s mythical organism X’or. They transmogrified into a unique part human, part alien, and part dog super species called the Homolient with tremendous powers but a lifespan of only twenty-four hours.
The sentient hive-like Cocoon of the Exo-Force that infrequently gives birth to X’ors turn Bernard, Yeri, Axl, and Ralph into super beings for a day.
Without fully comprehending the power of the Exo-Force, the accidental super beings reluctantly combine their newfound superhuman strength and doglike instincts and abilities inherent to Homolients with their Tae-Kwon-Do skills to assume the role of Galactic Guardians, the watchdogs of the world.
Their adventurous exploits of the also bring them face to face with super villains, monsters, humanoids, magical creatures, Ninja assassins, and even rogue Homolients out to usurp the power of the Exo-Force.
All this while juggling school, part-time jobs to save up for an ailing mother, Kickamania bouts in their human form, and desperate search for Felix Antonio Barker who, unknown to them, has turned into their psychopathic cat-cyborg archenemy, Catatonio.
The pack comes to be known as the TAEKWONDOGGS.
